LETTERS OF CONDOLENCE TO MADIBA

We mourn the passing of one of our great nationalities. Below are the letters of condolences sent from our various departments:

1.

Examples of sterling men in the annals of mankind are rare and exceptional.

They are men who gained victory without compromising what they believed in. Men who are humble in speech yet strong in principle, soft in character yet solid in belief.

In our compatriot, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, have we witnessed elements of the character of our great Prophet, Muhammed, peace and blessings be upon him. Long after oppression, torture and finally exile, did Muhammed return to his homeland, Makkah where his once bold enemies now cowered before his might. Yet he chose peace, forgiveness and freedom.

It is through the sacrifice and hardships endured by such men, tempered by their irresistible character, that we may enjoy the fruits of their struggles. Those struggles are never forgotten and we truly acknowledge and appreciate them.

To the family and sympathisers of our brother, we offer our sincere condolences and highest regards.

May the legacy of Madiba continue to live in our lives and the generations to come.

2.

We are deeply saddened by the immense loss of the founding President of the Democratic Nation of South Africa, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. A father to freedom and unity, whose untiring service to the Nation has earned him the world's regard.

We remember Madiba and the cause he strived for.
We remember the shackles he had endured so that we may run free.
We remember how his character captivated his allies.
We remember how he wielded principles to conquer his foes.
We do not forget the person he was.
We will always remember Madiba and we bid him farewell.

Our thoughts and condolences to the family of Madiba, his colleagues and all those who struggled for what he struggled.

We wish ease and all the best.

3.

The Union of Arab Communities in South Africa mourn the departure of our African father and brother, Nelson Mandela.

From you we have seen the champion of equality and a better life for all, irrespective of colour or creed. A cause worth living for. A cause worth dying for.

We salute you and your absence will be sorely felt in the challenging times we are yet to face.

Our sincere condolences to the family and to all who clutch the same values as he did.

Extension 10 - 2013 - First Look

On a daily basis the Al Tawheed Islamic Centre sees reverts to the beautiful deen of Islam. Below are a few examples from our centre in Extension 10, Lenasia during 2013.

1. Amina Thebo

Amina lived close to a Muslim community in Durban. She later moved to Thenbelihle in Lenasia. Here she befriended Khadija Gaga who is a student at the Al Tawheed Islamic Centre in Extension 10. Khadija informed her about the centre and Islam and she promptly accepted Islam!

2.Zeenat Mbele

Zeenat (pictured right) also found the light of Islam through her friend Surayya Senephace (pictured left) who is a student at Al Tawheed.

3. Ayesha Jardine

Ayesha, previously of the Christian faith, accepted Islam through her husband, a resident of Lenasia. Ayesha who was touched by the character of her husbands family readily accepted Islam and is studying at Al Tawheed.

Today, Shaykh Bassiouni visited the centre and gave valuable advice to students and teachers alike.

The Good You do Echos

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Follows is an email sent to Qari Basheer by one of his graduates:

Salaam ustaz Basheer

I write this email to thank u for the time and effort you spent on us. I know it was not the best of days during our studies, but, Alhamdulilah through your assistance and patience you had for the Altawheed class of 1998 to 2001 today I'm working at an Islamic institution in Durban as an Administrator (MA Motala Islamic Centre, in Pinetown Durban)

There are many things I am grateful for, but believe u me the contributions and highly undermined islamic education u gave us is PROUDLY AND UNRESERVEDLY CELEBRATED AND CHERISHED by me.

I have grown and realised that, there is no light that one can claim without Allah Azza waJall.
This evening I led magrib salaah, I don't have a beautiful voice, but some visitors who were part of the musallees I led said to me, brother what a Tops Tajweed, who taught u, Guess whose name I mentioned? Surprisingly! They all know Qari Basheer Patel!

Sheikh your work echos, please for the sake of Allah keep doing Allahs work, as for Politics, Leave it for the Most High.

May Allah Bless the Team abundantly

Greet all sheikhs, will also make dua for Marhoom Habeeb ML.

Shukran Was salaam

Your beloved son
